Meet the heart behind the mission—Johan, Tarryn, and their two children, Olivia and Chloe. Known as the “Fun” Rensburg family, they bring warmth and joy into their ministry. Johan is a devoted husband and father, balancing his professional commitments with his love for family and the outdoors. Tarryn is a nurturing partner who finds joy in creating a welcoming home. Together, they form a tight-knit, energetic family unit, committed to spreading love, worship, and hope in everything they do.

Influenced by a variety of styles - from contemporary worship and gospel to folk and indie-pop - his songs are infused with heaven inspired lyrics and melodies that draw listeners into a deeper understanding of God’s presence, love and purpose for their lives. His vision is to create a sacred space where the love, grace and truth of God can be experienced, inspiring others to embrace their spiritual potential fully.

Johan and Tarryn’s mission extends beyond the stage—Gaining Ground Worship also engages in outreach initiatives, including street evangelism, rehabilitation programs, and prison ministries. Their ministry reflects Christ’s love in action, embodying both supernatural encounters and practical support for communities in need. By joining hands with other outreach and rehabilitation organizations, Gaining Ground Worship shows God’s love where it is needed most.
